Joel E. Bernardini — Coldwell Banker Distinctive Properties broker, Steamboat Springs About

Meet Joel

Real estate broker · Routt County & the Yampa Valley · Coldwell Banker Distinctive Properties

I learned to ski at Steamboat — my first turns were here, back when the gondola ran slow and you could grab a slice at Infernos at the base. Labor Day vintage auto races, birthday turns around Groundhog Day: I've been coming to this valley for more than 30 years, watching it grow and change. I didn't move here to sell it. I LOVE here.

Roots

Real estate's been in the background the whole time

I grew up on the Front Range in a Broomfield that was building fast — I spent a good part of my childhood in unfinished houses and helped finish more than one basement. My father ran Bernardini Homes in Westminster for about 20 years; I watched the business up close.

The work

What I actually bring to it

Before real estate I spent more than a decade in capital-equipment sales — high-value deals, long relationships, and walking people through complicated decisions without rushing them. Turns out that's most of this job, too. What I bring isn't a pitch: a straight read on the market, clear presentation, and someone who protects the relationship through close.

Off the clock

Adventure, precision, and a little peace

Off the clock, you'll find me on the mountain, on a paddleboard, or cooking — at home or over a campfire. Adventure, precision, and a little peace: that's the Yampa Valley, and it's why I stayed. If you're thinking about making it your home too, I'd be glad to help you do it right.
