Skiing Beaver Creek
One of the friendliest big mountains in Colorado — with more bite than its reputation lets on.
The reputation, earned
Beaver Creek is known for immaculate grooming and approachable, family-friendly terrain, and it's on the Epic Pass. The base village feeds you right onto the lifts, heated walkways and all, a small thing that matters a lot in ski boots.
More than beginner runs
Past the cruisers there's genuine expert terrain: Grouse Mountain's bumps and steeps, and Birds of Prey, the pitch that hosts the annual men's World Cup downhill. McCoy Park, up top, adds gentler, higher-elevation terrain. There's a version of a day here for every level.
One mountain, three ways on
You can get onto the mountain from Beaver Creek Village, Bachelor Gulch, or Arrowhead, handy to know when you're deciding where to stay or where to land.
